Overcoming Fear in Business: The Power of Asking the Right Questions for Success

If you’ve ever felt stuck in your business or life, it might be because you’re not asking the right questions. This fear of rejection or hesitation to ask for what you need is keeping opportunities out of your reach, and that’s not the plan God has for you. Let me tell you why asking questions—whether it’s in business or in life—can change everything.

Your Fear of Asking Is Holding You Back

One of the biggest things I’ve learned in my journey as an entrepreneur is that asking questions is one of the most powerful tools for success. Whether you’re running an e-commerce business, working a 9-to-5 job, or anything in between, asking the right questions can open doors you never thought possible.

In the Bible, Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” So often, the reason opportunities aren’t coming your way is because you’re not asking, you’re not seeking, and you’re not knocking on the door of opportunity.

I’ve personally experienced how asking questions can transform your business. When I first left my 9-to-5 job to pursue entrepreneurship, I thought it would be a quiet, introverted journey. I imagined not having to talk to anyone or answer phone calls. But God had a different plan for me! He pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me the power of asking questions and being bold.

Asking Questions Can Unlock Opportunities

Let’s talk about how asking questions can change your business. First, think about asking for the sale. Selling doesn’t mean convincing people or doing flips to make them believe in you. Instead, it’s about presenting the facts clearly and letting people make an informed decision. Your ideal customer is smart enough to know when it’s time to buy—so if you’re not asking them, how will they know?

I know many business owners hesitate to ask for a sale because they fear rejection, but what if I told you that asking and offering your product or service is the best way to allow your ideal customer to make a choice? Don’t overcomplicate it, just ask!

The Fear of Rejection is Just a Small Slice of the Pie

Now, let’s talk about the fear of rejection. Often, we get stuck in this mindset that asking for something, whether it’s a sale, collaboration, or even a discount, is too bold or selfish. But imagine the world as a giant pie. You may be asking for a small slice—like a handful of customers or a small sale—but God wants to give you the whole pie.

In a world with billions of people, asking for a small piece of the pie isn’t too much. You’re capable of so much more than you think, so start asking for what you want.

Ask for the Sale, Ask for the Collaboration, Ask for the Discount

There’s no harm in asking. If you want a collaboration, ask. If you want a discount, ask. If you want to negotiate a better deal, ask! I negotiate everyday in my business, and trust me, sometimes I get surprised by the answers. For example, when I negotiate prices with suppliers, I always ask for a discount or better payment terms. If I didn’t ask, I’d be paying more than I need to.

This principle applies to everything in life. If you’re stuck at a job and haven’t had a raise in a while, ask for it. Just like in business, the only way to grow is to ask for what you deserve.

Trust in the Process and Ask for Guidance

Asking isn’t just about asking for sales or collaborations—it’s about asking for guidance, wisdom, and clarity. There have been times when I didn’t feel savvy in certain areas of my business, especially in things like math and analytics. But when I stopped saying, “I’m not good at this,” and started asking God for wisdom, things started to click.

God gives us the wisdom and guidance we need to succeed. Don’t be afraid to ask for the help you need, whether it’s in business, your personal life, or your faith journey.

The Power of Asking

If you’re in a membership or coaching program, don’t just sit quietly—ask questions! Be bold and take full advantage of the knowledge available to you. In my own mentoring journey, I’ve asked lots of questions, and every time, I’ve learned something valuable. But it all starts with the willingness to ask.

So, if you’re not getting the results you want in your business, ask yourself: Am I knocking on enough doors? Am I asking the right questions? If not, it’s time to start.

Remember, your success is waiting on the other side of your questions. Don’t let fear keep you stuck. Ask boldly, seek guidance, and trust that God has big plans for you. Whether you’re asking for the sale, a collaboration, or help with your business, the doors will open when you start knocking.

Start asking today, and watch the opportunities begin to flow. You’ve got this!
